Sienna's new hat

Sienna received a new hat from her Aunty in Melbourne yesterday so we had a little photo shoot this morning to show it off. Will have to get James in his new shirt and hat in the next day or so and get some pictures of him.

When your 4 year old tells you to come and take a look you should do it right away!!

Last night Sienna was having a bath for ages and I told her to get out and put her pj's on and she could watch some tv before bed. Well........ I went to put them both to bed and found Sienna still in the bath after tipping just about all the shampoo/hand wash in the bath and having the most wonderful time.

I suppose this doesn't sound very good but she isn't left to her own devices and I call out every 3 mins to make sure she is okay. As a result of how cute she looked she got away with wasting all the shampoo and instead I went and got the camera. That's how it works sometimes, lucky for them I love cute shots. Butter wouldn't melt in her mouth (not!!) I love the cheeky shot of all the bubbles on her and the "thumbs up" sign.

Christmas Cake

It's tradition for my sister Lisa to make the family Christmas Cake which involves soaking the fruit in rum for a few weeks before Christmas and then she goes to Mum's place and they bake it together in her oven for hours. After the cake is cooked Lisa continues to pour rum over it leading up until the day she ices it. Her icing looks better and better every year and the cake is so moist and tasty which means another big success in the Christmas Cake department. Great job Lisa and Mum.

Under the Christmas Tree

We had a very exciting Christmas morning opening presents from Santa. James was so excited that he woke up at 2am and came in to see if it was time to go downstairs. I told him it was the middle of the night and he had to go back to bed. They both slept in until 6.30 am so that was great for me as they have been having 5.30 am starts these days. It was great to see them so excited to run into the lounge room to see what Santa brought. Here are a few pics from what was under the tree.

Christmas Eve

Another Christmas Eve and lots more photos to post. Last year I started a tradition of a Christmas Photo Shoot in front of the tree wearing Santa hats because we got our beautiful tree so this is the 2nd year running. Here are some photos from our session and my assistant, Mr Tripod we did alright. I also took a picture of James writing a note to Santa to go with the milk and tim tams. I know Santa will especially enjoy the tim tams. Enjoy Christmas with your families and all the fun and festivities of it all. Christmas is so magical with children.

Seasonal Produce

This morning I picked 5 cucumbers from the garden, some shallots, and tomatoes from my new plant. This is still bringing me lots of joy to collect and eat home grown veggies. The other night I also made a yummy quiche with our fresh eggs and I think I'll make another one tonight for dinner.

Christmas Decorations

A few years ago I bought this cute Christmas Santa and enjoy hanging him up each year. This holiday I bought myself 3 new little additions to the decorations and they are my chubby little snowman, santa and reindeer all with little springy legs. I think they are the cutest little things and Sienna likes joining them together so they are holding hands. It's great having kids to really enjoy the magical time of Christmas. I still can't believe it is only 6 more sleeps. The kids and I jumped into my bed tonight and we cuddled up watching The Polar Express instead of doing Christmas books.

Day 17

Last night was the first night that it hasn't been raining right on 7pm so I took the kids to one of our favourite Christmas Lights not far from home. James was keen on seeing the electric train set that was set up and Sienna just squealed about absolutely everything as she was so delighted. I'm pleased I got out of my nightie and took them (yes I had already had my shower and was in my nightie after a long week).

December Daily

Here's today's pages of the December Daily. We had scheduled a cricket match with some friends and James made up the invitations with the help of a couple of "rub on's" out of my scrapping supplied. I told him he had to give his match a name like the Ashes which is currently being held at the moment so he called it "Smack Down" cricket. Due to the weather it had to be called off which we were all extremely disappointed about. We are going a bit stir crazy with this rainy weather although we did manage to have a beautiful swim this morning in the pool. Click on the picture to enlarge.

A few days at the beach

We have just got back from a few days at the beach and here are a couple of pics. The weather was very weird, one hour it was raining, next hour it was sunny, next hour rain and this continued on just about all day. Always lovely to catch up with our good friend from the coast and the kids love the water and you always feel like you are on holidays when you are at the beach.
