Brisbane Lions vs Gold Coast Suns - QClash Cup

Last Saturday James and I had free tickets to the GABBA to watch the QClash between the Brisbane Lions and the Gold Coast Suns.  The tickets were due to James' AFL team participating in the half time on field game back in April as seen here.

For a game that takes a couple of hours it is a marathon effort for us to attend.  Firstly Sienna stayed at Granny's place and then James and I parked the car at the train station to get to Roma Street in the city followed by the bus to to GABBA and then we met up with our footy team manager and his family and got to our seats some time before the game commenced.

The game started at 4.40 pm and finished around 7pm ish and then it was back to getting through the crowd of 27,000 people, onto a bus and back to Roma Street station, then back to the car, then to Granny's to collect Sienna and then back home around 8.45 pm. So for us it's about an 8 hr outing however James was thrilled to bits to be there and took great pride in banging the free noise makers and clappers when the Lions scored a try.  Luckily for us they won on the night which made the game all the more worth while.

We also got to have our photo taken with the QClash Cup before the game and they emailed it to me and also I got it sent to my phone which was really cool.  Here's some photos from afternoon at the footy.

  1. That is quite the trip when you take into account all the extra travel time but it looks like you both had a great time - the stadium photos look really good. Oh and thank you for the blog recommendation, it's a great blog and right up my alley so thank you.
